This one’s for all small boat enthusiasts! We’re moving into head racing season, so let’s keep the momentum going and the boat running. Race 1500m in your virtual single and set yourself a good baseline for the fall season’s upcoming work. This is a stand-alone event from foolsfestsprints.com. It's not part of any series or quest. LET'S HAVE FUN WITH IT!

THERE WILL BE PRIZES! It's summer, so we're going with visors for the crew. Ride Backwards will give their ultralight Element 360 visors to the winners in EVERY division listed on the Fools Fest Sprints website under the Sculling Bash event. (That's right!)

 
 

  • Full-entry racers will also receive a Sculling Bash UV-protected vinyl race decal and a social media share image of their success!

  • Speed Pass racers can compete live virtually on ErgZone but will not receive any race merchandise. (If you think you can throw down a winning time in the 1500m, sign up for Full-Entry so you can win a visor!)

This virtual race will be conducted ONLINE using the ERGZONE app.
The app is free to download in your mobile app store.

Age Divisions

  • SGGM = Super Great Grand Master > 70

  • GGM = Great Grand Master > 60

  • GM = Grand Master – 50-60

  • M = Master – 27-49

  • O = Open – 20-26

  • JR = Junior – 0-19

Weight Categories

  • Lightweight Women: <= 135lbs (61.5kg)

  • Heavyweight Women: > 135 lbs (61.6kg)

  • Lightweight Men <= 165lbs (75kg)

  • Heavyweight Men > 165lbs (75kg)

Adaptive Categories

  • PR1

  • PR2

  • PR3

RACERS IN OTHER TIME ZONES may compete at their local time on Sunday, August 11 at 9 am, but MUST manually submit their results on the ErgZone app within 24 hours of completing the event at their local time.

COMPETING ON AN OLDER MODEL ERG? You can still compete if your erg doesn't have a PM5 monitor. You cannot participate in live racing, but your score will count in the official results and rankings. Just enter your race time manually on the ErgZone app with a screenshot of your monitor so we can verify your results.

  • Manual Submissions must be entered within 24 hours of Sunday, August 11, to be counted in the official rankings and posted on our website.

    • Racers in different time zones will not be able to submit their results on the ErgZone app until after we have completed our live virtual race at 9 am CDT in Chicago.

  • Make sure the date on your monitor is correct!
