Where it all began! Fools Fest Sprints, Chicago’s party with ergs. Our premier indoor rowing event where serious racing is seriously fun! We’ve taken our party online, so we can virtually race against people worldwide. Join us in dropping the hammer for a 2K, a 2-Person 1000m Relay, or our Kid’s 12 & Under 200m Fools In Training race.

The 2K. You know it. It’s the race you love to hate and hate to love. You can’t seem to quit it, and it never goes away. The crown jewel of the Ergon Metron, our signature event, and the race against which all other erg races are measured. The best of strategy, execution, stamina, and technique. Do you have it?
The fourth and final stage race of the Ergon Metron Series Cup. Only Fools Do 2Ks can be entered as a solo event or as part of the series.
There will be medals to win, official race tees for sale, along with FFS erg towels and decals. The champions will have their names written on the Fools Fest Sprints Trophy and be crowned with their own custom, handmade Fools Fest Sprints bucket hat.
This is a Metron Maximus required race.

FFS 1000m 2-Person Relay

Grab your pair partner, life partner, roomie, or friend from the club and sign up for our 1000m relay! Each rower will row 500m, and your times will be combined to find our fastest duo!
All teams will be in the same heat and register under "Open," the leaderboard will sort out the results into mixed, men's, or women's, based on your Concept2 gender designation.
Are you sharing an erg between two racers?
If you only have one erg in your house, row one right after the other. When the first person finishes their 500m, have the second person connect their mobile device to the PM5 and do their 500m. The app will combine your results.
Racers sharing one erg MUST do their relay like they would at an in-person event; immediately get in the seat when your partner finishes and start your piece. We will only accept results from 2-Person teams who submit results one right after the other. No gaps or naps!

Kids 200m Fools In Training

Do you have a child you'd like to get interested in rowing or just fitness in general? We've got a fun event for the kids 12 years of age and under to compete in that is a safe way to introduce or further ignite their passion for fun competition. This live virtual race is an excellent opportunity to let them participate and learn about rowing in the privacy of their own home with no intimidation or the craziness of an in-person event. And they'll get a race decal for signing up!

RACERS IN OTHER TIME ZONES may compete on race day at their local time, but they MUST submit their results immediately after completing the event.
COMPETING ON AN OLDER MODEL ERG? If your erg doesn't have a PM5 monitor, you can still compete. You will not be able to participate in live racing, but your score will count in the official results and rankings. Just enter your race time manually on the Ergzone app with a screenshot of your monitor so we can verify your results.
Manual Submissions must be entered no later than 24 hours past the official race date, and have the correct time per your location (9 am CST in Chicago is 3 pm in London) to be counted in the official rankings and be posted on our website.
Make sure the date on your monitor is correct! We will only be accepting manual results from monitor screens dated 2021.
