The Metron Maximus is the complete virtual erg quest. Have you ever wanted to complete every ranked distance piece in the Concept2 logbook? This event is that—an all-encompassing year-long feat of determination. The Maximus is possibly the most difficult erg challenge on earth. Completing this quest will require both mental and physical mastery. Injuries will come, illness will happen, and schedule conflicts will magically appear. Do you have what it takes to overcome life’s obstacles and unseen hurdles to complete this quest? If so, you are made of tough stuff, and this challenge is for you! All results are ranked on Concept2.

Mutant Ninja Rower 100K
The MNR is an extra-credit race for extreme athletes. It is included for those OCD racers who must complete EVERY RANKED DISTANCE to feel legit.
Mere mortals should not attempt this event, BUT If you are a Mutant Ninja Rower (or just plain crazy) and this distance is in your wheelhouse, go for it! A bonus prize will be yours upon completion. May the force curve be with you.
The Metron Maximus Champion will be the rower with the fastest overall combined time from the first nine races, not including the 100K.
Racers must complete all nine races to be awarded the status of Metron Maximus.
If you miss the scheduled start on race day you still have 30 days to submit your race result on ErgZone with a screenshot to remain eligible for Concept2 and FFS rankings and prizes.
There are no refunds for scratches. Your registration fee makes all of this possible, and we count on it to make this a great event. When you enter the Metron Maximus, you make a pact with yourself and support indoor rowing. To survive until the end is to win this thing. The Maximus is a feat of skill, stamina, and mental toughness. You are either insane or an elite athlete, possibly both!

Registration
Registration for the Metron Maximus is now closed. Racers may still enter the remaining races as solo events.
Registration for the Metron Maximus opens on June 1 and closes on July 9, 2024, 30 days past the scheduled race start of the Ride It Like You Stole It 100m on June 9. Racers have 30 days to get entered and manually submit their 100m race score on ErgZone if they miss the scheduled start.
You must enter and complete the Ride It Like You Stole It 100m to be included in the rankings. Don’t wait to sign up! Once the 30-day submission window for the Ride It Like You Stole It 100m is over, you cannot enter the series but may still compete in individual races.

The first stage race of the Ergon Metron Series Cup, the Summer Sweater 1K can be entered as a solo event or as part of the series.
Racers competing in the EM Series Cup Championship must complete their 1K on race day at 9 am in their time zone, whether virtually on ErgZone or independently offline.
Racers who miss the start time have 30 days to submit their 1K results to remain eligible to be capped but are out of contention for the rankings and overall championship.

Racers competing in the EM Series Cup Championship must complete their 5K on race day at 9 am in their time zone, whether virtually on ErgZone or independently offline.
Racers who miss the event have 30 days to submit their 5K results in order to remain eligible to be capped but are out of contention for the rankings and overall championship.

The Everest of the Ergon Metron, this event will test you to the core of your being. Not for those with soft hands or soft hearts. Legs of steel and the heart of a lion are required, along with an unabashed delight in suffering. Can you go to your pain cave and pitch a tent? We shall see.

Crazy In Love Erg Marathon

You have to be Crazy In Love to erg 42,195 meters! For those who want to test the depth of their devotion to indoor rowing, we’ve got a virtual event for you!
The 42,195 meters will be broken into 4000m intervals without any scheduled rest in between, but YOU MAY REST!
If you want to take a break, stand up, hydrate and stretch, go to the bathroom, etc., simply put your handle in the cradle and leave your phone connected to your monitor. Your monitor will not time out if your phone is connected to the event via ErgZone. It doesn’t matter when you take a break or for how long. If you need to hit the bathroom at 22,315 meters, get up and go! Just don’t take your phone with you. Leave your phone connected to the event and your monitor exactly where it is.

You know it. It’s the race you love to hate and hate to love. You can’t seem to quit it, and it never goes away. The crown jewel of the Ergon Metron, our signature event, and the race against which all other erg races are measured. The best of strategy, execution, stamina, and technique. Do you have it?
The final stage race of the Ergon Metron Series Cup. Only Fools Do 2Ks can be entered as a solo event or as part of the series.
There will be medals to win, official race tees & tanks for sale, along with FFS erg towels, and decals. The champions will have their names written on the Fools Fest Sprints Trophy and be crowned with their own custom, handmade Fools Fest Sprints jester hat.
Racers competing in the EM Series Cup Championship must complete their 2K on race day at 9 am in their time zone, whether virtually on ErgZone or independently offline.

500m Salute 2 The Troops

Fools Fest Sprints salutes the memory and service of our troops. This Memorial Day weekend, we will race 500m with everything we've got in honor of those who gave everything they had and made the ultimate sacrifice. This will be a Triple Crown event.
Triple Crown?
Racers are invited to compete in three 500m races. Do one, do two, do all three for the Triple Crown. Each of the three 500m intervals will have a 5-minute rest in between. Claim victory in one, two, or all three 500m races!
This event is a fundraiser for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust, which receives a 100% 4-star rating on Charity Navigator. 10% of your entry fee will be donated. The Erg Rats are proud to lead the charge and encourage you to join our indoor infantry for this worthy event.
• All racers will receive a 3" UV-protected vinyl Erg Rats Memorial Decal.

The deadline to submit a 100K score is midnight, Saturday, May 31, 2025.

BUT If you are a Mutant Ninja Rower with skin made of Teflon and a hind end made of Kevlar, with quads cut like diamonds, and a hip hinge made of steel (or just plain crazy), and this distance is in your wheelhouse, go for it! A bonus prize will be yours upon completion. May the force curve be with you.
• All racers will receive a 3" UV-protected vinyl Mutant Ninja Rower Decal.
• Results reported and ranked on Concept2

Racers competing in the Metron Maximus have until midnight, Saturday, May 31, 2025 to submit their times with a screenshot on the ErgZone app. This event is not required for the Maximus; it is extra credit.
Race Divisions & Classifications
Rankings will be determined by age, gender, and para-athlete classifications. All results will be reported to Concept2 online rankings.
Registration
Registration closes at noon the day before each event. You can sign up for each stage race individually or the entire Metron Maximus.
Registration for the Metron Maximus (all nine races) closes 30 days after the first race; The Ride It Like You Stole It 100m is complete. After this date, competitors may still enter the individual races but will be out of contention for ranking in the Metron Maximus.
All race results will be reported to Concept2 rankings.
